Boil the potato and keep it aside for 15 minutes to dry.&lt;br /&gt;Step 2. Smash the boiled potato.&lt;br /&gt;Step 3. Onion - ½ cup.&lt;br /&gt;3. Drumstick - 1 (4 pieces)&lt;br /&gt;4. Brinjal - 100 gms.&lt;br /&gt;5. Potato - 100 gms.&lt;br /&gt;6. Tomato - 4&lt;br /&gt;7. Green Chilli - 4 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;8. Tamarind - 25 gms.&lt;br /&gt;9. Mustard (Kadugu) - ½ teaspoon.&lt;br /&gt;10. Urid Dal - ½ teaspoon.&lt;br /&gt;11. Red Chilli - 2 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;12. Asafoetida (Perungayam) - 2 pinch.&lt;br /&gt;13. Basmathi Rice - 400 gms.&lt;br /&gt;2. Onion (Big) - 3 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;3. Tomato (small) - 3 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;4. Grated coconut - 2 teaspoons.&lt;br /&gt;5. Cinnamon - 4 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;6. Cardamom - 5 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;7. Cashewnut - 10 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;8. Garlic - 10 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;9. Cloves (Kirambu) - 10 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;10. Green Chilli - 50 gms.&lt;br /&gt;11. Mint leaves (Pudhina) - 50 gms. (1 kattu )&lt;br /&gt;12. Coriandar leaves - 1/2 cup. (1 kattu)&lt;br /&gt;13. Ginger - 2 small pcs.&lt;br /&gt;14. Chicken - 500 gms.&lt;br /&gt;15. Salt - as required.&lt;br /&gt;16. Biriyani leaves - 3 pcs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;u&gt;Preparation Procedure:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 1. Always clean the rice first.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 2. Chop the onions and tomatoes into small pieces. Add grated coconut, cinnamon, cardamom, cashewnut, garlic and cloves together and make the masala paste. Keep it seperately. The secret ingredient here is to have coconut-milk (milk extracted from grinded coconut) instead of grated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 3. Prepare the ginger paste and keep it seperately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 4. Slice the green chillies and clean the mint leaves and coriandar leaves and keep it ready along with chicken cut into pieces (average size).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 5. Keep the thick bottom wessel in stove with medium flame. Add oil and ghee, biriyani leaves, prepared masala paste, onions, tomatoes, green chillies, cashewnut (or powder) and fry it till it gets slightly roasted and it would look brownish in colour. Keep this seperately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 6. Also fry the ginger paste seperately and add it to the above-said masala.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 7. Now add chicken pieces into the masala and fry for over 5 minutes. Now keep it seperately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 8. Now, In a pressure cooker, add 5 glasses of water (500 to 600 ml) and required amount of salt and allow it to boil. After that, add the fried masala and chicken. Now add the cleaned basmathi rice and stir it together.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 9. After it is boiled, close the cooker and apply its weight. Allow it to boil till. After 2 to 3 whistles switch the stove off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Step 10. After 10 minutes, open the pressure cooker, mix it well once and close it. After 30 minutes, open the cooker. The tasty biriyani is now ready.
